I start every day with God and reading daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Accessible to All.” Xochitl Dixon wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Matthew 7:13–14. The key verse is, “Small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:14. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ; before I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries to inspire comments and witnessing.
I remembered how I respond to the good news; I cried. I was overwhelmed with relief that I was a child of God. That day, I told everyone what had happened to me and my choice and wanted to learn how to share the good news with others.
The gate is small because God the Son is the only bridge that can reconcile fallen man and God the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit (vv. 13–14). Scripture also says that believers from every people, nation, and societal rank can enter heaven and bow before the King of Kings and worship together around His throne (Revelation 5:9).
Reflect
How did you respond after hearing the good news? How can you be more intentional about sharing it with others?
My prayer for us:
God the Father, please empower us through Your Holy Spirit to show others the accessible path that leads to Your approachable Son, Jesus.
